Adventures in the Windy City Part 1 : The Train and Lou Mitchel's

Let me begin by saying that I LOVE LOVE LOVE going on trips that get me out of school for a few days! It's a beautiful thing when you are out doing something exciting instead of sitting in a dark and stinky school. With that out of the way, LET THE BLOGGING COMMENCE!

Fact#1 : Tiffany loves to travel by train. It's true. I absolutely do! So when I found out we ("we" being my family and I) were taking the train to Chicago on Tuesday the 23 and Wednesday the 24, I was rather excited. Actually, that's an understatement. I was waaay more than rather excited. Anywhoo, waking up at the crack of dawn rather cooled my arduous passion for train travels, but once we got to the station, I was primed and ready to go! Fact#2: In Tiffany's opinion, train stations are breeding ground for mystery and romance. However, the East Lansing station is not one of those places. It's rather dark and smelly (like my school). Hardly a breeding ground for romance at all. It was an excellent place for a mystery, despite it's decidedly non-romantic atmosphere. One can find all sorts of people on a train. Here are the sort of people I found: 5 German speaking Amish people, A middle aged business man, two very loud middle aged women, A very rich elderly lady and her grandson, and two European women. Add a plot and you have yourself a mystery! Despite all of the mystery floating in the air, I found myself very very very bored on the train. And guess how long it took to get there?! 4 hours. 4 very long hours. Finally, we arrived at Union station in Chicago! My goodness, it was GINORMOUS! It was like, 5 blocks long. I'm not kidding.

Once we found our way out of the maze that is Union Station, we were very hungry. So, we decided to eat at Lou Mitchell's. BEST DECISION EVER! oh my goodness, how do I describe the perfection that is Lou Mitchell's? Fact#3: Tiffany loves banana pancakes. It's a new development. Before, I was a little wary of the yellow fruit, but thanks to the most delicious pancakes EVER, I have been converted into a banana lover. Oh myyyy, just thinking about them makes my mouth water! They were so moist, fluffy and banana-y. yummmm.
